Comments:
Well that was fun. This is the first time I've run qrp in a contest, and the
KX3 makes it easy. It continues to surprise me how talented the contesters
around the world are in being able to pull my 5w signal out of the noise and
qrm (it is certainly better than I do). Anyway ran assisted and was able to
get very respectable rates up till later on Sunday when the crowds were
noticable thinner. I worked to get 100 countries on a band and then quit!
I did quite a bit of dxing, since the intent was to work towards QRP DXCC, so I
did that at the expense of score, but hey it was a lot of fun!
The KX3 is remarkably competent. I did notice interference from stations on
the image frequency, but since I wasn't running it never bothered me for long.
(I had done the band by band unwanted side band rejection tuning).
After SSCW, WAE RTTY, SS SSB and now CQWW CW, it's time to take a break. (my
search for comfortable headphones continues).
