Darn cold, headache, weakness prevented my attempt to work 100 countries low
power on 40 unassisted with a new 3 el wire beam I put up recently favoring
Europe. I was barely able to stay up to midnight both nights and only made a
few contacts to Pacific because I stayed in bed except for a few minutes Sunday
after 8 AM local. The 3 el certainly works well in its favored direction- at
least 6 db over my dipole which favors east/west. Both are at 60' level.
Unfortuately, the 3 el isn't good enough for running with low power. I had 4
EU stations call me in some 30 minutes of CQing.
