Comments:

This is one of my top three or four favorite contests. To not have spent 44-46
hours in it was to feel like a failure. But spending 12 hours or so was all I
could manage.

I had a lot of excuses; we had company for part of the weekend, I had to drive
to the airport on Saturday, I had to watch football on Sunday, I had to cook
breakfasts, and the doctor said that I can't sit in the operating chair for
more then 30 minutes at a time. Actually, the latter is the only real reason.
The others are just excuses.

But still, I had a lot of fun when I was on. The station still plays
competitively and I broke a lot of pileups. I never called CQ and only chased
DX spots. Occasionally I would stumble onto someone's frequency that wasn't a
mult and would quickly work them.

Maybe next year?
