High bands were fabulous, as expected with flux so high. Low bands were tough
going -- averaged well over 100 per hour for the first six hours, then rate
fell to under 50 per hour once I moved to 40M, then 80M and 160M.
Goal was to break 200,000 points and 1,000 Qs. Managed the points but not the
Qs -- just not enough worked on 40M and 80M to get there.
Wanted to go SO2R but couldn't as the DX Doubler mixed audio is lousy for some
reason. Could barely hear the left radio even with AF gain cranked up. Right
radio was okay, and each on its own is fine. But combined, it's no good for CW
work. Better find a fix for that.
Stayed on the air until 0130z, took 2 hours in a block, then back on at 0330z.
Probably should have stayed on 40M another hour to take advantage of more
productivity. Could have landed the 33 mults I got on 80M in a final one-hour
sweep.
Thanks for the contacts. Had great fun all day.
