15m sounded promising sunday morning with two asian stations with first call and
no repeats. Then brrrrrcssssssshhhhhh - THE device in the neighbourhood was
switched on, delivering its S9 signal for the rest of the day (on an antenna
that rarely captures any signal at more than S9). So IÂ'll depend on the
descriptions of others what may have happened on that band. 15m for me is like
an ocean seen from the coast with some fins occasionally giving an impression
of the life in it...
And activity was great everywhere so that many wanna-be-SO2R-ops let their
audience wait on their run-frequency, and let the audience wait, and let the
audience wait, and let the audience call again and wait and call again - and
then hastily answer simultaneously with the audience just calling again.
Somewhat rude and unfair at times, but doesnÂ't it feel good to check the
SO2R-box? But at least they didnÂ't cheat transmitting two signals at a time
;-)
Many thanks for all spending the time for repeats!
Qrp IS fun even in RTTY which has fewer techniques to bypass the endless
queues. Highlights were KP2 on 40 exactly at sunrise and ZL1G on 20m which is a
first with 5W RTTY - thanks for the patience.
IC-718, 22m sloping lw for 80m, 40m-doublet @9m for 40m and up
73, Chris
