Comments:

Great contest.

BATTLESHIP NEW HAMPSHIRE entered the first battle of the 2013 Contest Year with
in superb material condition. Woody has continued to push the edge of the
envelope in improving the station such that it far out paces the operator.

Unlike last year's ARRL DX CW - and indeed many/most of the major contests in
the intervening year - conditons were stable the whold weekend without serious
disturbances. Although earlier predictions had foreseen SFI levels in the
120-130 range, that had been progressively downgraded to the 100 level, which
places ten meters openings to Europe from New England in the 'iffy' category.

Overall impressions: the low bands, especially 160 were quite good. The first
night on 160 was especially productive. OTOH, 10 was at best marginal on
Saturday and first day QSO totals there were a small fraction of the contest
total. Sunday was good enough to add over 500 QSO's to the band total on 10.

Overall, conditions were good enough and activity levels cooperated to allow
the previous US SOABHP record to go down in flames. After missing it last year
by one one lost multiplier, I looked up at the monitor about 1500Z Sunday and
realized the old record (set by W4PA @ K5ZD during last cycle, roughly 6.7
million points) was likely to become history.

Thanks to all for the QSOs and special thanks to Woody, WW1WW, whose passion
for excellence continues to impress.
