Comments:
In last year's ARRL K0DQ and N2NT held an open lesson session for me and I
thought I learned how to do this stuff. Well, not quite. Competing with these
quys requires to be on your toes all 48 hours and limit the amount of mistakes
to virtually none. I was doing OK (I think) the first 36 hours or so until my
brain switched to zombie mode. Way too early to be really competitive. This
iron man thing can be really dangerous. The worst thing about it is that you
can never tell in advance if you will be able to do it or not. By the time you
realize you're not making it, it is already too late. Anyway, it was great fun
while I was awake. Had some of the best rates in my life. For my total
surprise, almost everyone I asked agreed to move to another band, giving me the
so precious mult. Even some of the Caribbean expeditions obliged. Thank you
guys, you made my day!
Congratulations to K0DQ on the tremendous score. 8 lemons and a change! That's
insane.
Thanks to K0DQ, N2NT and NN3W for the competition. This is what really makes it
worth it. We'll do it next year again!
