Comments:
These are the combined numbers for NE, IN, and 7QP. I'd estimate the split about
50/15/35% respectively. I do know that all the phone contacts were in NE.
Thanks to N1MM for letting us run all three contests concurrently. Much easier
and more productive than doing one, shutting down to do another, on and on.
I decided the batteries in my KX3 could use a discharge/charge cycle, so I did
this one QRP. Life is still too short for QRP, except for when the alternative
is NoRP. The first few QSOs in 7-land were really tough. I noticed that the
W-4 was showing no deflection at all, a bad sign. After about 15 minutes I
realized that the last time I used the KX3 it was on a different, random wire
antenna. Once I tuned the ATU I them became just a normal weak QRP signal. At
times on Sunday morning the skip to most of NE was short enough on 20 that I
almost felt loud. But by noon things were back to normal and it was pulling
teeth a few QSOs at a time around stints working outside.
Hope to see lots of you in Dayton in two weeks!
