Stew Perry Topband Challenge - Summer
========================CUT=====================
I still tihnk that the summer version of the Stew Perry test would do
better in July or August when there are fewer thunderstorms in the
central US. However, I am speaking from my own point of view. Anyone
else have any thoughts about the timing of the festival of static?
=========================CUT==========================
The southwest US does not get much in the way of summer T-storm activity
until the first of July when the moisture flow from Mexico starts the so
called Monsoon season. In a good year this period can extend till the first
of September, roughly 60 days of activity. However, we are in the midst of
an extreme drought which has now entered the 4th year.
That said, July and August is not better in our part of the country for a
summertime contest. I was not able to be active for this one, but have
intentions of doing so in coming years. I have read the reports with
interest. A good show by the diehards.
