Comments:
I always enjoy the NAQP contest - this contest format always provides my
favorite domestic contest combination of mults by band and strategy decision
options for band changes and time off. That being said, August is always a
challenging time to operate, and this year was no exception with plenty of
noise and not the best of propogation.
This contest added another unexpected twist with a power outage about 11pm that
lasted 3+ hours. There was no "3 blink warning" to this outage either
- one second I was settling into a run frequency on 80m, and boom - the radios,
the shack and in fact the whole house is in the dark. So I found a flashlight
and called it a night, and now that I see it lasted until around the 2am
contest end time, I'm glad I didn't wait for it to come back on!
Thanks for the Q's!
