Comments:

Conditions weren't good on the high bands, and 40M was a bit spotty to Europe
with only the big guns making it over the pole. Ran low power for the first
couple of hours on the air before deciding more fun would be had with the
amplifier going.

Spent most of the daylight hours Saturday working on the switching system for
the new 80M triangle array of three full-sized elevated verticals. Made the
final connections in the forest as night fell over BC.

Just five hours of actual operating. Rest of the day and evening was focused on
the test bench. The Tek dual-trace scope purchased for this project in January
allowed me to get "textbook" phasing and magnitudes in all six
directions, but the jury is still out as to whether or not it actually works.

Had hoped to give the new array a good whirl Saturday night, but found just
four stations to work (all low-power though, which is marginally better than
the three worked on 80M last year with the amp on).

Sure hope the new array plays as predicted. It has taken many vacation days
since early August to convert the former 2-element Christman-phased
East-West-firing array into a three-element array firing off the triangle
points or bases with appropriate lagging or leading magnitudes and 90-degree
phasing.

Was up again at 1000z (3 a.m.) to try again. Either the antenna is a total dog
in all six directions, or nobody was on 80M except KH6LC on 75M SSB up beyond
the array's intended bandwidth. At least he was strongest when pointing due
west, hi. No RTTY heard on any band over the next couple of hours to the end.

This weekend's SCC was by far the worst high-power effort from here. But I
still enjoyed being in there and appreciate the contacts.
