Comments:
My plan was to put in a token effort in the Ohio QSO Party. About 1345Z I
realized there was also a Kansas QSO Pary, which I thought would be a good
check for the radios and antennas before the Ohio action started. Little did
I realize this was a first class event! If I had known how good it was, I would
have planned accordingly. As it was, I wound up mowing 2 acres of grass on
Saturday, still put in my Ohio QSO Party effort, and had a cookout on Sunday,
with me functioning as the cook! Not good planning!
Any QSO party is as good as the mobile activity, and it was a pleasue to listen
to the quality efforts of the Kansas mobiles. Managed to work 96 of the 105
counties in my partime effort. I think a sweep would have been possible if I
had cancelled all of my other activites. Congratulations to N6MU on his
sweep, to the organizers for putting together such a fine event, and to the
many mobiles who provided world class CW entertainment. I will come back
another time. GUARANTEED.
RIG: K3 to AL82 amplifier, about 800 watts. Mosley PRO-67B at 117 feet, 80
meter inverted L.
