Good conditions on Sunday to the southwest, I was able to work some usually
unworkable stations. The station lacked some needed maintenance, the receiver
was stressed to its limits by a high power big gun less than a mile away,
missed some prime operating time due to other commitments, local wireless ISPs
using the 900 MHz band contributed to a constant S5 noise level, and a new
radar on 1296 challenged the K3's noise blanker - all contributors to a lower
score than last year.
