Comments:
Thanks to everyone for the QSO. Bands were packed and in good shape.
This is the first real workout since moving to this QTH last year. Fortunately
the shack was without trouble this time - no amp breakdowns and fortunately the
storm brought no lightning surprises (beyond one short power outage); a real
improvement from the RU and WPX earlier in the year! Antenna work finished a
few hours before the contest start - a personal first.
Had some weather here on Friday night/Saturday AM which made 80/40 a tough run
the first night. Saturday the storm came through at sunrise giving pause to
operation in addition to tons of QRN. Saturday was quieter but the prop was
not as good. Sunday the storms were gone making it a very fine day for
contesting.
SH5 is indicating 98 countries; just two short of "DXCC in one
weekend." I will have to improve the chair-time vs. bed-time balance in
the future.
