Comments:

I got a late and slow start because I was outside past the opening bell trying
to lash down my masts and antennas. We had our first big wind storm of the
season -- of course just in time for SS. But that's what dacron rope is for,
right?

I think I made a LOT of logging errors this time. How do I know? Well, the most
obvious clue is all the guys telling me "b4" even though I don't see
them in my log. But if I don't lose more than ~60 QSOs in log checking then I
will have beat my score from last year, in which case this will be my all-time
best sweepstakes score. That's really surprising. My rate in the first four
hours was terrible and was nothing close to the 80-90 Q's per hour that I was
working in the first few yours last year.

The most interesting thing about this SS for me was the fact that there were so
many good bands to choose from most of the time. It spread everyone out. Maybe
that's why my rates at the beginning were lower. It's harder to run at high
rate if the S&P'ers are wandering around 3 bands packed with runners.
Regardless, since the bands kept working well, I managed to maintain a low but
steady rate in the upper 40's per hour for most of the event.

Fifteen meters is so good to me. My low wire antennas are actually competitive
on that band. What the heck am I going to do in a solar minimum? I've never
contested without sunspots. Sounds terrible.

It was great to hear all the strong, local signals as well as all the rest of
our nation of contesters. Thanks for the Q's and I'll see you in the next one.

73, Chadd KK7S
