SS is my favorite contest...
Arrived late and tired from a week at the corporate home office in VE3 (GTA)
Saturday in the evening. Went to sleep, so no real operation on Saturday other
than turn on the rig. Sunday, on to SS CW in earnest.
Great conditions on 10, 15 and 20! When the high bands are working, I am
competitive! This is the closest I have come in *YEARS* to a sweep on CW, only
missed NL and PR. Great results in my antenna challenged facility for 7 hours of
work.
Good runs, even on 80m. 40m antenna, having been tweaked yet again for a
better ConUS pattern proved it might be optimized at last into the
Midwest... But with the good comes the bad... Some RF into the keyer on
40... Where are my ferrites...
Note that I will be Class A in SSB again this year, however, this time from
my own station with my own antennas due to time constraints. I hope to be
full time for phone, work needs non withstanding.
