Comments:
We could not get enough operators to field a competitive multi effort this time
around, so I did the best I could as a single op. It has been a long time
since I did a serious effort as a single-op/all band entry in this contest and
it was great fun, despite not being up to sitting in the chair as long as I
would have liked. This was a single radio effort, even though there were many
radios/amps here that saw no use this time. Time off was spent on sleep and
Sunday worship. I used a strategy of using the RBN for most of the multipliers
I worked and focusing on maximizing the multiplier count since I knew would
have
a lower QSO count due to the limited time I could be on the air. My ACOM 2000A
got a real workout in this contest, as I would band-switch very often in the
middle of a run to check on and QSO needed multipliers that showed in the
"Available" window of N1MM Logger.
I still prefer the camaraderie of the multi-op entry and hope to have a team
here for next year. My thanks to all the stations that called in while I was
CQ'ing. A special thanks goes to the Lord for giving us such spectacular
conditions. It has been a long time coming!
