Comments:
Since I wasn't looking forward to a low power slog on the vertical (ye olde
SB-201 doesn't have 10m), I decided to put together a 10m Moxon for this
weekend. After crafting it out of the finest scrap PVC and wire I found lying
around the shack, I pushed the thing up about 17 feet on a fiberglass mast on
Friday afternoon.
Turns out it works pretty well for a bunch of junk pushed up in the air.
Originally planned on SSB only, but after the band switch on ye olde Omni D
decided it no longer wanted to work in the "28.5" position,
preventing me from working anyone between 28.560 and 28.990 or so, I decided I
might as well operate mixed mode to make more points for the club. Good thing
too, CW was pretty productive, and I think I clawed my way a little closer to
WAS Triple Play.
As they say, ain't no meters like 10 meters!
