Comments:

Started the contest at 18:00 GMT with 15m still open, worked some 15m then down
onto 20m, using writelog and 2Tone with mmtty for TX, found that 2tone kept
locking up, worked 40m then 80m till around 02:00 gmt when I decided to change
logbooks to N1MM which I handt used for some time, once I'd exported and
amended the headers for the exchange fields I imported the log into N1MM and
configured for use with 2tone, I instantly found N1MM was much easier to use,
the insert working great and the fact the rtty windows autoscroll is a great
feature for much less mouse work. I operated a little longer then closed at
around 3:50am, starting up again at 5 we worked the bands as best we could,
finding 10m not great but 15 was good both days and had a good long run into
the US on Sunday afternoon, We were still having the problem with 2tone
lock-ups but found if we didnt use the second rx and second 2tone it didn't
lock up, strange as I was using 2tone is 2 different folders .. Any ideas
anyone?
Anyway the first contest of 2014 and the first for new licencee M6ZTO was a
blast, weather Saturday was awful and we had to rebuild the 40m vertical and
elevated radials after the previous winds in driving rain. Sunday the weather
was lovely until around 6pm when once again the wind and rain arrived.
Equipment was Elecraft K3, Acom 1000, KT34A at 40ft, 40m vertical, 40m Inverted
V dipole and 80m inverted V dipole.

Spring will see the installation of a 40m 4 square, 20m 5 ele monobander @
60ft, 15m 5 ele monobander at 60ft, 10m 6 ele monobander @ 60ft, KT34A at 40ft
groundplane for 80m, inverted L for 160m and SAL rx antenna for 40 - 160m. Also
a new shack setup for M/S with 2 x elecraft K3, 2 x amplifiers, 5B4AGN filters
and 6 x 2 antenna switching and software linked rotators for beams.

We are actively seeking operators for 2014 M/S RTTY and SSB contests, if anyone
is interested in visiting and operating with us then drop me a line.

See you on the bands soon.

Jim M0CKE
