I always try to operate the ALQP because it has good activity and a number of
the AL op's are quite active in my home QSO parties (OH and IN). For this ALQP
I had to be away from my OH QTH at a lake in Michigan babysitting the
granddaughters while my son and daughter-in-law raced a sailboat.
Nevertheless, Saturday night I was able to operate mobile from the motel
parking lot using a K2 at 10W. The QSO total was disappointingly low, but I
was amazed by some of the stations I did work. I was also equally amazed by
some the stations I did not work. I worked KN4Y/M twice and k4ZGB/M once.
Great ears guys! On the other hand, there were several strong fixed stations
that just kept CQing in my face.
