Comments:

Omni antenna at my end (KU4AB 222 MHz loop at about 4' above the roof of the
CoROVERolla) BUT I also had a 5 el yagi that I could set at about 15' (when I
remembered to change the Coax to connect the yagi instead of the omni, as I
FORGOT to do when I set the yagi up at my first stop - OOPS!). Transceiver was
my faithful FT-736R transceiver backed up by a TE Systems 2212G amp that I had
to manually switch between TX and RX but signal reports were much better with
the brick keyed (no surprise there but I was probably an alligator).

As I observed for last week's 144 MHz Sprint, activity was light around the
Chicago area but no Bears game to blame that on. Only 6 different stations
found but each of them was in a different grid locator AND three of them hung
in to catch me from all 4 of the grids I visited, another caught me from three
stops and the other 2 calls were contacted from just one of my stops. All QSOs
were also multipliers so my score ended up being 17 squared. EN51 and EN62 both
yielded 5 Qs by 5 Mults, EN61 yielded 4 x 4 and EN52 wrapped it up with 3 x 3.

Longest path was from EN51xx to EM89je on 2xCW - 513 km. 5 more QSOs in the
110-140 km range, 7 were in the 60-80 km range and the remaining 4 QSOs were in
the 20-40 km. All QSOs are appreciated!

Thanks to all who were on and participated.

Thanks to the SVHFS for their continued Sponsorship of the Fall Sprints and to
Bruce Horn, WA7BNM for supporting the Sprints and so many OTHER radiosport
events with the 3830scores.com web site.

73, JK
