My #1 most exciting moment of this contest was the QSO with VU2NKS on 10m.
It would've been after sunset there and was a couple hours after sunrise here.
Thanks for pulling
me throught the EU callers Nand. Happy Happy ! (addendum; and with 5 mins to
go, worked him on 20m too)
Was nice to see Olli DH8BQA with a tremendous signal on 10m as always ! Thanks
Olli.
CT7ABQ called me no less than 4 or 5 times on 2 or 3 bands. Never could coax a
grid square out
of him. Tried everything. Could've sworn I saw him print a grid square to some
EU's earlier. Anyone have any better luck?
As always, I have to have my usually pet-peeve minor grumbles about WAY too
much fluff being sent back and forth.
Calls/grids...that's all that's needed. No, I am not a grumpy old man (51 the
other day), but when signals
are uber weak (like on 10m) or very QRM (like on 20m) and we are trying to
establish a good contact,
then sending ".....GM OM MICHAEL...... VE9AA VE9AA de YL0Z&^#! UR A
599 599 599 jn@# - jn#$ TODAY, OK? TU KKKK"
is just really just too much. This happened a few times and shorter variations
happened LOTS of times.
Anyways, just was giving N1MM+ a maiden voyage sail on RTTY and all worked as
expected.
Thanks a lot for the contacts and pardon the OF grumbles for those of you that
only send your call twice and grid twice (that's
perfect !)
