Comments:

Nuts! I thought this special CWT would be my chance to make 20, but not this
time. At 0300 I set the KX3 to 5w and it locked up. I've been having troubles
with updating the firmware and have opened it a dozen times or so lately. I
must have disturbed the ribbon cable that came loose when I pushed a button. I
did get it running again, but lost some CWT time trouble shooting.

I'm having a good time and really appreciate the friendly Ops here. CW
Academy has been a huge help in improving my CW. I took the intermediate and
advanced course this year with Rob K6RB. He's an excellent adviser and a great
yarn spinner. I entered CW Academy at 11wpm and I'm now between 20&25wpm.
I hope to be ready for membership by New Years.

Learning CW at 5wpm in '91 left me with some regrettable habits that I've not
completely overcome. When I'm pressed, my brain reverts to old habits and then
stalls while the next words zip by. I had to drop back a bit and start over.
Now, it's feeling better and I'm enjoying CW. My sincere thanks to all CW Ops
for the Academy. 73 Doug K7KY Brookings,OR
