Comments:

Ran SOAB Low Power (100W) Assisted category. Probably ran about 20 hours total,
(strictly S&P), missing late Saturday night due to low band noise on 80M,
combined with fatigue and a sore butt, and a while on Sunday morning due to a
XYL induced short shopping trip. Saw spots several times for NC7M, K7AR and a
few others as I was rolling through the dial. I am sure I worked a few
"new ones" (especially on 10M and 40M), which is always good! Band
conditions were GREAT on Friday night and Saturday, (especially the 40M opening
to EU Friday night), slightly less so on Sunday. It has been YEARS since I saw
band condx so great. Low noise on the low bands Friday night, and great condx
on 10M on Saturday.

Note to self: Do not spill water on the left side front panel of a FT-2000
while operating. It causes ALL of the front panel buttons to stop working. (but
for some reason the knob controls still worked). Switched radios, (to the
back-up FT-1000D), and figured out that my e-Bay find CAT interface cable to
marry the FT-1000 to the computer did not work. Also, had to fabricate a cable
on the fly for my MFJ external memory keyer, since the FT-2000 has the memory
keyer built in and the FT-1000D does not. Had to run with no CAT operation for
N1MM for about four hours until the FT-2000 dried out enough to work again. (I
took the covers off and hit it with a heat gun for few minutes, then let it
sit). It ran OK for the rest of the test, thanks to the radio Gods. Lost about
an hour on Friday night because of my water induced nightmare.
