MFJ-9020 QRP rig, J37 straight key, Dipole at 25', SLA batter solar powered,
paper log. Icom 735 with power cranked down for the 80m & 160m QSOs.
Got on and played for a little bit a bit after dark on 20m. Got a few answers
to CQ's but I prefer S&P with the straight key. Basically barebones FD
style here, but enjoy working old friends. You get to see who the 'real' ears
are.
Mike - VE9AA... How in the world did we work so easily? I heard him weakly
CQ'ing figuring he was mobile QRP or something & he actually heard &
copied my exchange correctly with no problems.
Never did work KL7SB. Heard him CQ'ing fairly loudly about 0130z but never
could raise him.
Worked K5NZ on 80m/160m & WA2VYA on 80m in the last hour.
73, Jason N5NU
