Wow, what an end to a wonderful whale watching vacation - contesting from
Hawaii!!
Thanks to Tom (NH6Y) and Leslie for the use of the station over the weekend. I
tried to give it good workout. Fabulous hospitality. The bands were in superb
shape, even supported running on 80m. Despite a light rain the first night, the
QRN was very low. The multipliers just kept coming in, even DE on 10m in the
last 5 min of the test. It was a thrill to work so many of my friends from the
other end.
I also wish to thank the members of the Maui Amateur Radio Club for the use of
KH6RS. That's vastly better than sending KH6/W5JR. I had the pleasure of
operating FD with them in 2013. Let's see, NH6JR will available soon....hi, hi.
