Comments:
This was our second year in the MIQP. Operators were the same as last year--my
father-in-law Bob, K2YAZ, wife Liz, KJ6RQU and me (Ryan, K6RQT). Our daughters
Mary (2-years) and Ellie (4-months) also joined us. Despite high levels of
toddler/baby QRM, both our QSO and multiplier totals went up from last year,
which seemed to be a result of devoting more time to 20m and SSB in general to
pick up extra mults and QSOs from more casual operators. We ran the same set
up, with just one radio running about 400 watts into a hexbeam on 20m and wires
on the low bands. Thanks to the organizers for putting on a great event, the
mobile stations for getting out and activating the rare counties, and everyone
else for all the QSOs. We had a great time again this year, and are looking
forward to seeing everyone from LEEL in 2016.
