Comments:
A last minute change of plans ! My cross-town friend, Sam, N5FO, and I were each
going to each do SOAB at our own QTH's. However, Sam is learning that building a
station is the easy part - Maintaining it is the real work. Varmints chewing
cables and lightning !
Instead, we teamed up for a M/S at the N2IC QTH. Nothing fancy - mostly just
the two of us swapping time in the run radio chair. Conditions were much better
than expected, and we had a great time ! The only disappointment was the
weather. Lost 90 minutes on Saturday afternoon, and most of the last 4 hours of
the contest. It wasn't a false alarm, either - many lightning hits within 1/2
mile.
