Comments:

What fun! Thanks to KE3X and N3QE for coming to "the farm" and making
this Multi-Single happen. Also, thanks to John Evans, N3HBX, for letting us use
his fine station and for all his hard work maintaining it. The station worked
beautifully.

We reviewed our M/S entry from last year and determined three things:
1) We need to be a LOT more aggressive chasing multipliers. A multiplier was
worth 33 QSOs last year.
2) We need to make a lot more band and mode changes to pick up multipliers and
keep the rate up.
3) We need to concentrate on making QSOs on the second (interlocked radio) on
every band mode and to get smoother at interleaving QSOs.

I think we did a good job on all three goals. Conditions on the high bands
weren't nearly as good as last year. At 5:30AM EDT (0930), we were still
running 3 point QSOs on 40 meters! Last year, we finished the contest with
FIVE straight hours over 120 QSOs on 20 and 15 (almost all on phone). This
year, we were on CW and the highest rate we had in the last five hours was 95!

I had the last ten rate meter up over 330 for a little while on 20SSB Saturday
evening - great fun! CW conditions and rates on 40 were as good as I can
remember in IARU on Saturday before European sunrise.

Thanks for all the QSOs!

73,

Mark, KD4D
