BAND GRIDS QSOS

23CM 2 16

(km)
SCORE: 118.94 Points x 40 QSOs = 4760

The key to making lots of QSOs in 902 MHz & Up SPRINT was to ‘happen to
attend the Pacific NW VHF Society’s Annual Conference’ which was being held
in Issaquah, WA (CN87xn)! Most conference attendees made their QSOs by means of
ALINCO UHF handhelds.
Three locations were extensively used by the participants, so everyone made
lots of very short distance QSOs worth either 6 points or zero points due to
‘Distance Rules’ instead of ‘Grid Rules’.
In this special case, a low score does not indicate lack of effort!
927.5 MHz was so busy that it sounded like an HF pileup seeking a rare DX
station.
