Comments:
No Clean Sweep. Heard both NT stations but not well enough to exchange reports.
Took my tower and antennas down one week before the contest for much-needed
maintenance. Everything went back up around noon the day of the contest. I was
sweating bullets.
Everyone said the bands would be destroyed by a CME, but I found conditions to
be quite nice, except to the NT.
My first-ever SS entry after hamming for almost 40 years. I found running UL to
be like shooting ducks in a barrel. Not very challenging, but fun nonetheless. I
did like using my own RBN spot signal reports into different parts of the
country as a way of judging how productive running would be.
The concentration required to copy a lengthy exchange is fatiguing, even with
the call history database. I can't imagine running SO2R as well.
I took one long five hour sleep / breakfast / shower break from 3am - 8am,
which only left me two half-hour breaks on Sunday. Might do it slightly
differently next time.
Fun, rewarding weekend.
