Mostly casual operating just to get a feel for the bands and find out what I
could snag with my new HF antennas, just put up this summer. It has been
several decades since I have had HF bands (save 10 meters):
40 meters: dipole at 60 feet
20 meters: dipole at 45 feet
15 meters: 3-ele Yagi at 50 feet
K3 + ACOM 1000
Antennas seemed to work fine, but bands seemed to be in exceptional condition
(but what do I know, since I have not been on HF for many years). Sunday
seemed better for Asia than Saturday. Was surprised to work half-dozen Chinese
stations with a dipole on 20 meters. Some were quite loud. Did not have as much
luck with 9M, XV, HS and other Asians I could hear. Did get a one YB though.
I am expecting to see some really high scores from the big guns.
