Comments:

It's been a different year at Rick's NQ4I station as his work and travel
commitments have kept us from our normal M/M efforts. We did talk him into
doing a small M/S entry though but with an abbreviated operating crew
consisting of good friends Rick K4TD, John W4IX and Jim VE7ZO. It was a fun
filled weekend trying to manage the run frequencies and seize the mult
opportunities.

Band summaries as follows:
160M: Discovered that the receiving 4 square wasn't working well at the start
of the contest but a hastily connected EU beverage by W4IX saved the day on
Saturday night as the number of QSOs (and mults) doubled.
80M: The band was runnable briefly on Friday night but most of the contacts
were of the S&P type. Few opportunities to work Asia.
40M: Second terrific year in a row for 40M, had DXCC in the first 2.5 hours
and made 40Z again. Highlight was working zones 22, 23, 26 and 28 on LP.
20M: Consistently OK but run time suffered with good openings on 15M and 40M.
15M Conditions were generally good but EU largely disappeared in the afternoon
with only the brief Scandinavian opening late into the afternoon. JA's were
workable but nothing strong from the far east or over the north into UA9/0.
10M: Ran for around 2 hours on Saturday morning into Europe but the band did
not open on Sunday. Only a handful of JA's by S&P.

This was the most enjoyable contest this year and a refreshing change from the
phone test!

73, Jim VE7ZO
