Comments:
This was the hardest and most fatiguing contest ever as the
line noise was S9+ on all bands. Fortunately, it stopped for
a few hours each day. Otherwise, my totals (especially mults)
would be much lower.
The beverages helped some on the low bands but were essential
on the high bands as the K3 NB made no improvement. Most of the time,
I operated with the attenuator on and the AGC off to copy many stations
that were otherwise unreadable.
My mult total was the same in the classic category last year so I estimate
that noise cost me over 100 mults.
My best hour was 247. I was pleased until I saw ZF2MJ's
rates.....
