Comments:

NAQP was a lot of fun! What? This wasn't NAQP? Oh yeah... ARRL 10m.
This wasn't as "international" as we were hoping for.
The first hour produced only BC and WA contacts. Very glad for these, of
course, but we would have liked to hear and be heard further afield, too.
However, with an A-index of 14 (!!) and the aurora hovering at 6 and rising, we
decided to call it a night and hoped for better conditions on Saturday.
Saturday was indeed a little better, with conditions sustaining some pileup
activity on CW and SSB. Same thing on Sunday. This led to a pretty good Q
count, all considered, but the DX component is embarrassingly small and the
mult count is far below our average. No EU, only a few JA -- no other Asia --
and a couple of VK and islands in the Pacific. One ZS. One CR. Had a
"feeling" that some AK stations were responding to our CQs, but alas,
there are none in the log. Conversely, the number of SA stations in the log is
better than usual. Guess EU was out of reach for those stations, too, so they
turned their beams northward. Lucky for us. :)
It's times like this that make us appreciate even more the Qs that we were able
to put into the log. Our thanks to everyone who picked VA7BEC out of the noise
and to all who responded to our CQs. The friendly hellos and holiday wishes
lifted our spirits when we despaired about conditions, so thanks for that as
well.

73,
Team VA7BEC
Rebecca VA7BEC and Koji VA7KO
