The Bloomington Communications Group (RACES) rolled out the comm. van for a
combination January VHF and Winter Field Day training session. We set up a 6 m
Moxon, and used the van's vertical (1/4 wave groundplane) antenna for 2 m FM.
One of our operators made his first QSO as a licensed operator, having passed
the technician and general exam a week ago.
Throughout our time on-air, we were monitoring 146.550 FM, and managed to make
3 QSOs there. On 6 m, we switched between 50.125 SSB (occasionally checking
higher up the band) and some JT-65 on 50.276, which was a new mode for several
ops.
