Soapbox :
When the high bands are working, I'm competitive. I hope I'm still alive in
the next cycle...
This is the highest score I have ever been able to achieve from my own personal
station equipment. Everything worked perfectly. Nothing broke. Bands were
strange and noisy.
Ran the KPA500 at Warp Factor 9. with the fan running at level 5 I often saw 62
degrees C and one red light lit on the power meter. That's Warp Factor 9 -
Scotty's comment about the KPA500 output settings: "Captain! She'll Fly
Apart!". But just like the Enterprise, she held together; except on 80,
where it would trip... Settled for 480w indicated on 80.
Its not the amp's fault... Its the antenna, which really has no business
working on 80, but at least it helped me work the Caribbean multipliers.
Hey, things worked out, I guess!
There is no substitute for Butt in Chair time.
There is not much else to say other than that.
Best 73 and thanks for all the points!
