I usually don't get into SSB contests since I only have 100w and the GP and a
couple wire ants but Sunday morning, I turned on 15m and condx were pretty good
into EU, so I jumped in. After I ran up and down 15m a few times I went up to
10. Signals were good and was surprised to see 10 stay open to EU until 2+
hours after their sunset. Some sigs on 10 were so strong, I dialed down the
xmtr to 5 watts and was able to work several station on first try.
The speech processor and built-in EQ in the 3000 definitely helped making SSB
contacts easier.
