Comments:
Sitting in my garage, for power I have everything hooked up to the battery in
the jeep. For the antenna I bought an Eagle One vertical that is attached to
the receiver hitch on my truck. It works great! My first test contact on this
setup was ON4UN!
I was challenged with my setup. The battery in my Jeep was weak so I had to
take (union) breaks to recharge the battery often.
My microHam box was out of adjustment so my mic did not work well. It worked
great for CW though. I got fed up and went in and got my Flex radio. It took me
some time to make a network cable for it. When I hooked it up all was well. I
love my Flex (with no knobs).
106 Q's. 20m was the go to band for me, 63 CW, 25 SSB, on 40m, 15 CW, 3 SSB.
My new antenna played fairly well. The SWR on 40 was flat at 1.7 to 1.9, on 20
I had to use the tuner. I had some problems with the mast telescoping in the
wind. The SWR would go crazy. I need to make some modifications to it so it
wont do that. I need to make some radials for it als
