This contest was supposed to be using Rig Blaster Advantage to link N1MM+ to
the Yaesu FT847 radio. But after searching for 2 hours to get drivers for the
Rig Blaster Advantage for Windows 10, I was unsuccessful in having N1MM+
control radio and generate CW text for all the N1MM+ operational messages. I
also erected a 40M quarter wave ground plane with feed at 30 feet and 6
elevated radials and a 20M quarter wave ground plane with feed at 10 feet and
4 elevated radials to use with the Yaesu FT847 operating in my computer room /
office. The 80M antenna is a wide band folded dipole up 40 feet fed with 450
ohm ladder line. This antenna is strung between the tops of 2 tall pine trees
in the front of the QTH. I started the contest at 2200Z on August 6th, and
operated 4 hours (until I made 100 QSO's). Having to manually send CW, log the
contacts, and then enter the frequency and then the QSO in N1MM+ was very time
consuming, taking a couple of minutes per QSO. The station was as follows:
Yaesu FT847 100 Watts
80M antenna: wide band folded dipole up 40 feet fed with 450 ohm ladder line.
40M antenna: quarter wave (elevated 30 feet) ground plane with feed at 30 feet
and 6 elevated radials
20M antenna: quarter wave ground plane with feed at 10 feet and 4 elevated
radials
