Comments:
K3CCR is the club station at the Collington continuing-care
retirement community at FM 18OW in MD, just east of DC. We
prefer M/2, but in NAQP SSB it was SOLP (Unassisted) because
I (N3UM) was the only op available.
I ran OK on 20 m. for just
the first 28 min, got 34 QSOs for 73/hr, but rate then plunged
to 33/hr, 10 Qs in 18 min. Was it because 15 m. opened? Yep;
19 Qs in 16 min. on 15 m. in 10 states including KH6, but then
no more: E skip and some F layer. Back on 20 m at 1916 Z, rate
still low, 36/hr. On 40 m, 60/hr 20-2030 Z. Until my 2112-2308
supper break, 20 was slow and steady, 40 fast but only briefly.
Low SFI made 20 and 40 weak and "skippy", rates lower than 8/15.
>From 2308-0037 got 58 Q on 40 m., a dull 40/hr. Then an OK run
on 20 m: 70 Qs 0049-0211, 52/hr. Finally, a great run, on 80 m: 111 Qs
0221-0335, 89/hr. A quick try of 160 m. got only 4 QSOs
in MD and PA in 8 min. Scraped up 27 more Qs on 80 in 37 min.
QRT with 22 more Qs, 11 more mults, and 6.4 K more points than
in 2015. Missed 7 states: 5 NW and SW, RI and DE in the east.
