Comments:
It was great to again pilot the N2QV station. Unlike ARRL DX and WPX CW, I
operated the station in person instead of remotely. There is functionally no
difference between the two, but I always like looking out the window to see the
antennas I'm using.
Conditions were about as bad as you can get. There was absolutely no EU
sunrise opening on 40 meters on Sunday morning. I did hear K5TR running EU
during this time but that just wasn't possible from here. The typical 20 over
EU big guns were S7 during this time which gives an indication of the poor
conditions. I sweated working zone 16 on 40 until one finally called during
the last hour of the contest.
It was a treat to use the new 160 meter four square. The entire N2QV work crew
put in an extreme amount of time on the project and the result is a customized
masterpiece!
Congrats to everyone on sticking through really abysmal conditions. Fingers
crossed that they are better for CQWW CW. Thanks to N2QV and WU2X for again
hosting me. I had a great time and the station was flawless.
73,
Kevin N5DX
