Comments:

I have a pretty good excuse for not being on Saturday. One of my daughter's best
friends was getting married and my daughter was a bridesmaid, so it was pretty
hard to weasel my way out of attending the 21Z (ugh!) wedding. There was
extreme noise pollution at the reception (give me a good phone contest any day,
CW even better!) and my back/butt was giving me fits, so stayed on the sidelines
until Sunday.

I did pretty well, will have try and pen an article for the PVRC Newsletter
about part time CW efforts for next year. I started off with a continuous run
of over 150 stations on 40 in the Extra band; there were fewer slip ups where
the called station did not respond/copy than usual. Mid day was somewhat slow
even for fresh meat like me, but things picked up around 20Z on 20, then 40 at
21Z. There may have been some Es to the NE from 2000-2130Z as the skip zone
shortened on 20, and 40 had nearly to totally no skip zone. But, that did not
last after the sun went down with signals even in 9 land dropping down fast.
The sections I missed were the "terrible N's", NE (as usual), ND, and
NT. The only time I was looking for mults/S&P mode was when running was very
slow. 15 provided PAC, AK, VI, PR, SK, NL, SB, and WY, but volume was pretty low
(24 Q's) with very poor prop to CA and WA. N7XU in OR was loud on 15.

Many thanks for the Q's and mults. It looks like the low SFI is taking a toll
on score totals. It was nice too see many familiar contest friends, and
everyone was so much more civil than a week ago in the CQWW!

Go PVRC & 73, Jeff
