Comments:
This year's score was less than the last two years. I did not have a beam up, so
working pileups is harder with an OCF or vertical. I missed DE, MS, and NL. The
DE was heard on 20 meters, so he was going long over me. The MS was heard on a
couple of bands, but I could not break through with my 100 watts. I don't
remember seeing the NL spotted nor did I hear one.
After about the first ten contacts, I noticed that I had sometimes had noise or
buzzing on my signal, as indicated by power out when I wasn't speaking. I
thought I had fixed that problem during the VHF contest last summer, however it
was back. I bypass the under desk mic box and things was back to normal.
I must learn to run with confidence, however every time I was thinking about
running I would have to get up put out a dog (dog sitting for my son), hold the
great granddaughter (baby sitting), or other interruptions.
I did have fun.
