Comments:
This was a little painful. I had very high noise levels and after working about
900 stations that were very strong, digging out the rest was a struggle.
I wanted to operate just enough to beat the record for DX stations and after
sleeping a whike the second night I got back on thinking it would be easy to
make another hundred contacts. At about 7 per hour, there wasn't time left to
do that! Anyway, I ended up beating that record by about 5,000 points and hope
that my error rate wasn't too bad.
Returning to cold Arkansas after six weeks on the Brac. Got to operate three
contests and had a lot of fun working 198 JA stations on 160m over a few days
period.
Used a TS-590S, AL-1200 amplifier at 1000 watts and a 68 foot vertical with a
big coil about half way up. The antenna works quite well for transmit.
Have not decided yet whether I will come down for CQ 160 Contest. If anyone is
interested in winning that contest, I'm pretty sure it can be done from here.
Let me know and I'll provide details on renting the house and radio equipment.
Thanks for the contacts and putting up with what was probably a decent signal
from me while I sometimes struggled to copy you.
73... Stan, ZF9CW
