Comments:

I tried a QRP effort to keep things simple, but, by running just battery power
at my hilltop shack, the heating effect was pretty slim. My feet got cold and I
did not last long with the ice cold floor. (Temp Sunday AM was about 5 to 8
degrees F.) I spent about 1 1/2 hours each morning, and then another hour each
afternoon seeing what I could work on QRP. Best DX was A31, and many SA
stations. I heard VK and ZL but they were weak and not workable with my low
power. I had rotor problems and did not try for Europe, but kept the antennas
mostly west and south. Almost all CW operation was S&P. I only worked one
station while calling CQ. On SSB I had a huge run of nine stations answering my
CQ. I did work a few XE stations but no VE stations. That seems like a first for
me. All in all, I was very pleased with my results and had a bunch of fun
running the 5 watts. Thanks to all who copied my peanut whistle.
