Comments:
After the hectic MM in CQ WW CW a couple of weeks ago here at PS2T,
the station was left unoccupied for the "Old Man" to give a try on 10
meters CW.
As already widely commented here by others, the propagation was very very poor,
maybe the worst in the history of this 10M contest (?).
I guess many serious participants made a "World (or Continental)
Records" in a NEGATIVE sense. This conforms to the solar data with no
sunspots and a high K-index.
In particular, the conditions to Europe and Asia were very poor.
Just a few Mediterranean and Western EU stations were workable for a few
hours.
NOTHING worked from any part of Russia and NOTHING from Scandinavia :(
No Far East or JA stns were even heard.
The only Oceanian QSOs were 9 Hawaiians. No VK/ZL.
The first day netted 800 QSOs and the second day only 195 QSOs.
Although some good W/VE sigs came in on the second day, most Americans
obviously didn't want to lose their valuable Sunday time on the lousy 10M.
The continent distribution at PS2T was:
NA 87 %
SA 6 %
EU 5 %
AF 1 %
OC 1 %
AS 0.4%
Rig: K3s with amp 1 kW
Ant: 5-el rotary at 22m
5-el fixed to EU at 12m
4-3l rotary SteppIR at 40m
Thanks to all of you who showed endurance and perseverance in endlessly pushing
the "F1" on the almost empty band,
thus acting as "Beacons" for us to listen here in PY2...
73, Ville PY2ZEA OH2MM
