Comments:

This was a groundbreaking contest using the Safford remote station built by
N5IA(sk). This was the first time it was operated on RTTY and that took a big
configuration effort in the week leading up to the contest. It was also the
first opportunity to try out a new, innovative, 40m 4-square (designed by AA7A)
added this past week to complement the station's 160m 8-circle and 80m 4-square.
The 40m antenna played exceptionally well, although there were few EU stations
heard and worked out here in the wild west.

The station does not yet have dedicated HF antennas, which meant using one of
the 160m verticals barefoot with the K3's internal tuner on 20m and 15m. It
was not ideal, but still contributed 172 Qs and 46 multipliers to the total.

In this wacky new remote world, NA2U was operating my station (KY7M) remotely
from his house while I was sitting in my own station operating NA7TB remotely
in southeastern Arizona.
