Comments:
The new mast-mounted 1296 xvtr wouldn't reliably key so that band was less than
effective. I took a few trips up the tower to investigate and finally just took
it down. I did some troubleshooting in the comfort of my shack and discovered
that part of the keying circuit had failed. Ended up using a clip-lead to
enable Tx.
>From a propagation standpoint it was flat to poor. Stations smart enough to be
running the digital modes (not me) likely did well because the rocks are always
there.
It was a nice weekend overall; instead of getting bogged down with a full-time
effort, I fit in operating time around the many other activities of the
weekend, most notably the two big NFL conference championship games. Go Pats!
