Comments:
During past years I always ran single-band unassisted on the 80M band. This
year I tried 160M for a change.
Propagation was so-so both Friday and Saturday nights and on Saturday morning
at sunrise I only worked as far west as Hawaii and Alaska. I could tell that
the JAs were in there but not good enough to work any of them. Sunday at
sunrise was better and I finally had success at running a few JA's. Also,
Sunday evening I was finally successful in running in spite of the Virginia
Wallops Island Ionospheric sounder periodically going
"brap-brap-brap-braaaaap-brap-brap" which often caused me to ask for
repeats.
I had fun but it was slow going. I will be going back to 80M next year!
